Steal a Chicken Eggs & Money: Merchant, Pen Upgrades

Cash in Steal a Chicken comes from one place: eggs. Chickens in your pen lay them, the Merchant buys them, and everything else (treadmill, trails, pen slots) is bought with that money. The numbers below come from gameplay videos dated September 4 to 8, 2026.

How eggs work

• Every egg has a timer. Early eggs finish in seconds; a Poseidon egg showed about 16 minutes, and one guide video showed a 22-minute growth timer.
• Collect them all at once. The base has a Collect button, so you do not need to walk to every nest box.
• Skip or grow. Timers can be skipped for Robux (5 Robux in one video), or you can pay Cash to fully grow your eggs instantly.
• Weight matters. Chickens and eggs show a weight, and heavier ones sell for more.

Selling at the Merchant

Carry your eggs to the Merchant and choose Sell All, then confirm. You can also sell chickens you no longer want, which frees a pen slot. For a sense of scale, here is what players actually got:

The jump from hundreds to millions comes from better chickens, not from selling more often. That is why Speed, which unlocks better nests, is the real money upgrade.

Pen upgrades

Your pen holds a limited number of chickens. In the September 4 run, the first pen upgrade cost $10K and took the pen to more than six slots; the next one asked for $1M. More slots means more eggs per Merchant trip, so upgrade the pen once your treadmill and first trail are sorted.

Money boosts

• x3 Money game pass (399 Robux) multiplies egg income.
• V.I.P (199 Robux) was shown giving 1.5x money and a faster timer.
• x2 Growth (350 Robux) speeds up egg timers.
• Codes: Release is 100K Cash; Crystal and September give Cash that seems to scale with progress. See the codes page.

The fastest early Cash

1. Redeem all four codes: Release alone covers the first two treadmill upgrades.
2. Keep your pen full; an empty slot is lost income.
3. Spend on the treadmill and a trail before the pen, then climb to better nests.
4. Replace your lightest chickens as soon as you can carry heavier ones home.
5. Sell before long AFK training sessions so you do not sit on a full pen.

Night and eggs

The official description says new chickens appear every night. One late-game video also noticed eggs finishing quickly after dark. That second part is not confirmed, but nightfall is worth watching for both new birds and a round of collecting.
