Steal a Chicken Speed Guide: Treadmill, Trails & Mini-Games

Speed decides which nests you can rob, so it is where most of your Cash should go. There is no official stat sheet; the numbers below come from dated gameplay videos (September 4 to 8, 2026) and a community screenshot report of the shop from September 8, and each one says where it came from.

Where Speed comes from

  1. The treadmill. Stand on it and every step adds Speed. You can go AFK on it, which is how most players train between steals.
  2. Treadmill upgrades. Each level raises the Speed per step.
  3. Trails. Bought in the Shop with Cash; each one multiplies the Speed per step.
  4. Cash multipliers. Once the treadmill is maxed, extra 2x steps up to 64x are bought with Cash.
  5. Free bonuses. +10K Speed for liking the game and joining the Kibrix Runner group, plus the Relax code’s temporary boost.

In the CHALLS run, upgrading the treadmill took Speed from about 700 to 5,000 within a few minutes, which is enough for the first Zombie Chicken nests.

Trail prices

Trails keep working after you buy them, so the cheap ones pay for themselves almost immediately. The usual order in the videos is Grey as soon as you have $25K, then a treadmill upgrade, then Blue.

Cash multipliers after max treadmill

In the September 8 late-game run, the treadmill hit its maximum level early, after which the only way to grow Speed faster was buying step multipliers with Cash: 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x and 64x. At that point the player was earning up to 1.28 million Speed per step. These are late-game purchases; before them, trails give far more Speed per dollar.

Treadmill mini-games

While you train you can play mini-games on the treadmill screen. Three names appear in gameplay: Flappy Chicken (tap or press space to fly between gaps), Egg Rush and Perfect Hit (timed presses). They keep you on the treadmill without going AFK; the exact Speed they add is not shown in any source we found, so treat them as a way to pass time rather than a Speed hack.

Free Speed

  • Group bonus: like the game and join the Kibrix Runner group for +10K Speed. It is written in the official description.
  • Relax code: a temporary Speed boost, recorded as double Speed. Use it right before a long training session or a hard steal. See the codes page.

How much Speed do you need?

The recommended Speed on nests runs from 45 at spawn to 1 billion in the late areas. The full ladder is on the zones page; the short version is 5,000 for the first real upgrade in chickens, around 300K for the mid nests and 30M or more before the late areas.

A simple training plan

  1. Redeem the codes and join the group (+10K).
  2. Train on the treadmill between your first steals until you can buy the Grey trail.
  3. Upgrade the treadmill ($10K, then $100K), then buy Blue.
  4. Push to 5,000 Speed and move to better nests; repeat with Purple and Red as Cash allows.
  5. Once the treadmill is maxed, switch to Cash multipliers.
