How to Steal a Chicken: Nests, the Guard & Thieves
Stealing is the whole game: every egg, every coin and every Speed upgrade starts with a chicken you carried home. The steps are simple; the skill is choosing which nest to hit. Everything below comes from the official game description and gameplay videos recorded between September 4 and 8, 2026.
The steal loop in one line
Nest → steal prompt → run → pen. The official description spells it out: steal chickens from their nests, run because the Guard is chasing you, and bat other thieves, who drop what they are carrying. Once the chicken is in your pen it lays eggs you sell at the Merchant.
Step 1: read the recommended Speed
Every nest area shows a recommended Speed. It is the single most useful number in the game, because it tells you whether you will make it home. Values that appear in dated gameplay:
| Recommended Speed | What was there | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 45 | First nests out of spawn | Community screenshot report |
| 5,000 | Zombie Chicken nests | CHALLS guide (Sep 7) |
| 70K | A heavier early nest | Berlian kecil (Sep 4) |
| 300K | Next nest up | Berlian kecil (Sep 4) |
| 30M | Keyboard Chicken nest | CurryBlox (Sep 8) |
| 200M / 1B | Two late areas | CurryBlox (Sep 8) |
If your Speed is below the number, you can still try, but the Guard will usually catch you before the pen. The zones page lists every checkpoint in order.
Step 2: grab and go
Walk into the nest and use the steal prompt (E on a keyboard, the on-screen button on mobile and tablet). The tutorial walks you through the first one from the safe zone. Do not stop to look at other nests on the way back: in the September 8 run, the Guard was close enough on two carries that a single detour would have lost the chicken.
Step 3: outrun the Guard
The Guard starts chasing as soon as you take a bird. There is no trick to losing it; you win by being faster. That is why the video guides agree on one order of spending: treadmill and trail upgrades first, bigger nests second. The Relax code gives a temporary Speed boost, which is best used right before a risky steal.
Step 4: deal with other thieves
Servers hold five players, and all of them can steal. Two rules from the official description matter:
- You can bat other thieves. Hitting a player who is carrying a chicken makes them drop it.
- They can bat you. Carry the chicken straight home rather than lingering near crowded nests, especially if someone faster is already circling.
If you see a thief running a bird past you, a bat swing is the cheapest steal in the game.
Watch the clock: night changes the map
New chickens arrive every night, which makes dusk the best time to be near the nests. It is also the riskiest: in the September 8 run the player got caught when it turned dark mid-run and did not notice. Start long runs early in the day, and save short, safe steals for nightfall when the new birds appear.
Which chicken should you take?
Nest labels show each chicken’s weight. Heavier chickens lay eggs that sell for more, so between two birds you can safely carry, take the heavier one. Between a heavy bird above your Speed and a lighter one below it, take the lighter one: a dropped chicken earns nothing. The chickens list shows which birds have been seen at which Speed.
Common mistakes
- Stealing above your Speed early. Losing three runs in a row costs more time than training for two minutes.
- Ignoring the pen. A full pen means your new chicken has nowhere to go; sell or replace your weakest bird first.
- Carrying past other players. Five-player servers are small, but one bat is enough.
- Forgetting the group bonus. Like the game and join the Kibrix Runner group for +10K Speed before your first real run.
